Starting in the Fall 2025 run, ForMAX is participating in the MAX-IV Fast Access program, with a couple of days per cycle for feasibility tests or short standard measurement service. The former is for checking signal quality etc, with the aim to submit a standard proposal later. The latter, in turn, provides access for a short measurement program of up to one shift (four hours). Fast access is only offered as a mail-in service.

Currently fast access can be offered only for the following standard techniques:

  • 2D scanning SWAXS imaging of solid, freestanding films, using a beam energy of 16 keV, a beam size of 50×50 microns at the sample position, and a 3 m sample-detector distance for SAXS. No sample environment is available.
  • Full-field tomographic imaging, using a ‘standard’ setup (e.g., x-ray energy may vary in the range 16-20 keV).
