New report: MAX IV and the Industry 2023

MAX IV and the Industry 2022 And 2023

MAX IV releases the second edition report about industrial use of MAX IV.

14% of MAX IV users are industry-connected

Industry connected users access MAX IV through proprietary access (2%) or through the open access route with academic or institute partners (12%). In this new report, we highlight industries using both access routes with cases and interviews.

External projects and networks focused on industry access to infrastructures

Another new feature in 2023 was to highlight the multiple access routes that offer funding, expertise, and networks to industry wishing to use MAX IV.

Accelerating multi-sectorial research from green energy to pharmaceuticals

MAX IV now has 16 beamlines in operation, and this opens up for industrial capabilities in many different sectors, such as electronics, photonics and the ICT sector, which accounts for 9.5% of industry-connected hours.

Consistent with 2022, Pharma was the largest sector for proprietary access but 2023 saw a 72% increase in this, due in part to our FragMAX crystal-based fragment and compound screening platform.
