A call for proposal will open September 4 with closing deadline September 18, 2024. For more general information about the call see https://www.maxiv.lu.se/user-access/call-for-proposals/.
MicroMAX is open for standard proposals for serial and time-resolved crystallography with the MD3-UP diffractometer, multilayer or crystal monochromator, focusing with CRLs (with a beam size down to 5 micrometer), microsecond X-ray chopper, ns-laser tunable laser and with either the Eiger2 X CdTe 9M detector or the PSI Jungfrau 9M detector. Serial crystallography sample delivery that will be offered includes small fixed targets and injectors (HVE, different capillary based devices). NOTE: At the time of the call the chopper and ns-laser are not yet in operation and further commissioning of the beamline will take place during fall 2024.
The beamline will also open in the Fall 2025 Call (in February) for standard and BAG proposals for rotational crystallography with the MD3-UP diffractometer, ISARA sample changer and Eiger2 X CdTe 9M detector using the crystal monochromator and CRL focusing (beam size down to 5 micrometer). NOTE: Automated rotational crystallography is still in commissioning and the experiment control in development. This functionality is planned to be in operation from Fall 2025 run. Since this functionality overlaps with BioMAX we strongly encourage users to apply for both beamlines so that the choice of beamline can be decided at the time of scheduling.
Please contact Thomas Ursby (see top of right hand side menu) for questions regarding the call. All users are encouraged to get in contact before submitting a proposal.
NOTE: Results from MicroMAX, in addition to the general acknowledgement for MAX IV, must include the following acknowledgement: “MicroMAX is funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation under the grant number NNF17CC0030666”
