FemtoMAX beamline is now open for regular user calls!
Driven by the linear accelerator at MAX IV, the FemtoMAX beamline is designed to study ultrafast structural dynamics. The method used to study these dynamics is time-resolved x-ray diffraction. Science performed at the FemtoMAX beamline can be put into the following main categories:
-Ultrafast chemical reactions
-Ultrafast phase-transitions
-Ultrafast bio-chemical reactions
Examples of experiments that is performed at the beamline includes ultrafast transitions from ordered to disordered states of matter, optically programmable materials, and protein crystallography.
